I stumbled onto Praia do Portinho by chance on a previous visit and just had to return. The beauty of the place is captivating, almost out of a movie - recommend 110% if in the area of Setubal.

You won’t be able to take you car directly to the beach and the directions provided by google maps is wrong. Instead of driving along the coast (coming from Setubal), go direction Sierra da Arrabida.

Make sure to stop along the way in any of the view points at the Sierra, the views are incredible.

Once you get to the entrance to Portinho there will be a guard, park wherever you can and walk down (about 10mins) or for €2-€3 you can ride down on tuk tuk’s that operate for most of the day.

Once you get to Portinho, you can enjoy a meal at any of the restaurants or just chill at the beach. I believe there a boat rides that operate from there but we never booked any.

Setubal is know for its fried cuttlefish so make sure to try them at any of the restaurants located there, best I’ve ever had!

Tranquil little place accessed over a short, very steep and narrow road with a couple of restaurants All with splendid view over the bay. Only drawback is the limited parking

It's a short walk from the village to reach the beach. Freezing water, windy as usual in the region.
The water colour and silence plus good food at D'u Portinho (Esplanada Bar seems to be the old name) make it excellent place to visit.

The beach is beautiful with really clear waters. The access is very complicated. We stopped the car on the side of the road near a restaurant called Mafalda and walked all the way down to the beach.
There is a traffic light controlling the traffic in and out the beach which might cause some traffic on the high season.
All restaurants were full. Maybe it is a good idea to make reservations. We couldnt get seated anywhere.
Services seem not prepared for the amount of people in there. Hope it gets better in the summer.
Will come back to check cause the beach is really awesome and the village charming.

A beautiful little port situated inside the Arrabida National Park in Portugal. The port is very tranquil and relaxing it has three restaurants all serving speciality fish dishes with locally caught fish and seafood. Prices are not exorbitant and portions are substantial. The view is very beautiful and the port is a short walk to the Pria Creiro which is a wide sandy beach with calm sea that is very clean. The only downside is the carpark is very small and in high summer you might have a long walk to the port but the restaurants lay on a free bus if you book a table in advance.

It´s a perfect location for someone loving quiet beaches and clear water ocean. As it´s of difficult access it isn’t too crowded; inserted in beautiful and bucolic surroundings it seems like a small paradise. Full of maritime life and lots of hiking and diving opportunities.
Water shoes are important because a good part of the beach is a bit rocky.
Waterproof camera is a nice to have for great photo chances.

Set in a beautiful Natural Park, hidden away in a small bay is a fantastic beach with crystal clear water. Lots of small marine life, starfish, jellyfish, anemones, fish, sea snails, shells, sea weed just perfect for snorkeling or scuba. There are a couple of restaurants but I havent tried them. The beach is mostly sand but there are some areas with rocks, I recommend the use of water shoes to protect the feet not just because of the rocks but also because of urchins, specially for children. You need to go early as not that much parking available. After you park the shuttle will take you to the beach, I believe it runs from 9am and its every 20 minutes otherwise you can walk, its only a few minutes and you can hear the cicadas singing whilst you walk down.

small, beautiful beach with some charming houses. bucolic place. The local restaurants are not as good as they once were, maybe because it was not season.

This is one of the best beaches between Lisbon and Setubal. It is hard to access during weekends beacause they close the road for cars.
