There are lots of reviews on here about this church now being a bookstore. It is not, that is Igreja de Sao Tiago. Neither is it the lovely blue tiled walls of Igreja de Santa Maria which people have pictured. This is a nice church, originally 13c but destroyed in the 1755 earthquake and rebuilt. Not especially interesting from an architectural viewpoint but with a nice altar.

This church is right next to Obidos Castle. You can find it at the opposite end of the towns gate. If you're in the area you might as well stop in and visit it.

Charming small church inside city walls. Not as ornate as some, but worth going in. Spiritual spot to enjoy.

It took a bit for me to mesh filling the mind and filling the soul. The book store juxtaposed to religious items was surprising.

There are plenty of pretty little churches in Obidos. This one has one of the most impressive altars in the town. Very much worth a visit. Didn't see anyone else go inside when we were there.

Nice church converted into a book shop at the only point where Obidos wall is broken. Friendly knowledgable man running it.
