We went on a Thursday evening and were the only ones in the museum. Exhibits were two fold, telecommunications and communications via mail delivery. The display information was written in both Portuguese and English. Telecom IT people would love the historical examples of switches, cables and devices. The house of the future was not available. Apparently, it is a guided tour that must be scheduled in advance by calling the museum. Overall, it was a niche museum that would appeal to historians and people working in the industry.…

The entry to this museum is only 5 euros, which is very reasonable considering the amount of items they have on show. It was very quiet when we went which meant we had entire exhibitions to ourselves to look around. I would say however we did get a little bored after a while - it is a huge museum so be prepared to spend a long time here and it may not necessarily be suitable for very small children.…

We took our children here and they found it very interesting. Lots of old communications equipment (phones etc) and information about the history of communication. Very quiet, we were the only people in the museum which made it easier to look around and makes a nice change to the busy tourist areas. Would definitely recommend. Also the entrance price was very cheap, and it's very accessible as it's near the metro, trams and buses.…

I walked in and a staff member at the counter watched me walk in and as it was open plan I walked into one of the rooms and started looking around. The only other people there were a tour group. After about an hour I was walking up to the second floor and the same staff member yelled from downstairs that I couldn't go up there. As I had seen most of it i went to leave and he asked for my ticket. I said I didn't know I had to pay so went to pay but then he said don't worry about it. So I left. It was cool seeing the old computers, telegraph machines and the radio station and TV studio. My experience was just let down by an unclear ticket area. I would say if you want people to buy tickets then warden it off or tell people when they arrive. The money museum i went to the previous day was free so it's hard to know!…

This museum contains a lot of communication equipment however there are some interesting parts to it in additional to the technical aspects. There are old carriages and scenes from centuries past. One section has a replica of a railroad car with a post office inside. It's worth a visit if you're ever in Lisbon.…
