This place has a great view and it is close to the attractions. Tasty drinks and good food. The steak, tuna and salmon sandwihes were amazing. Comes with crisps for a reasonable price. Not too expensive but not cheap either. Waiters were friendly but they served the starters and the mains at the same time. There was no empty space... More

Located in Belem, next to Tejo(Tagus) River. Lot to see and do nearby, like Jeronimos Monastery, Torre(Tower) de Belem, Padrão dos Descobrimentos(Monument to the Discoveries) etc. This bar/restaurant is located downstairs of Spa Hotel Altis and they have nice terrace overlooking river and popular boardwalk. We took some nice local white wine + cheese and coldcuts plate. Service was quite... More

My wife and I are seniors from Canada and spent a 5 week holiday in Portugal with the best of experiences staying in different cities, visiting monuments and enjoying the great restaurants. On 5 April we visited Bar 3841 (around 2.15pm) in Lisbon and unexpectedly had the most horrible experience at your restaurant. We ordered a beer, a glass of... More

It's one of my favorites bar near Tejo river. You'll find a variety of snacks and drinks (wine & cockails). They have their own wine. Must try. And when the weather is warm go there in the afternoon and stay there for the sunset. The staff are friendly and helpfull. don't miss.

We didn't stay at this hotel (mores the pity) its lovely, very plush and extremely modern, situated on the promenade with lovely walking. We had lunch here just sandwiches but they were delicious and served really nicely with crisps on the side. The bread was ultra fresh and the filling (tuna) was oozing and extremely tasty, the staff were very... More

Lovely establishment. Visiting on a warm October day and sat outside with a lovely bottle of Rose. Staff very attentive and welcoming. The building itself was lovely internally. Doors opened by staff with a welcoming smile. We had a bottle of wine here with spectacular views across the river. It was so relaxing, I can only imagine a say here... More

Pros: We were staying in the hotel so staff recognised us and gave excellent service making us feel welcome. Caipirinhas are good here at 8euros. Views great and comfy seats for people watching. This location is not somewhere to take children and not recommended as will be frowned on, which was a pro to us to keep the vibe nice.... More

We came here as part of a Belem walk in our Lonely Planet guide. It was a perfectly timed stop for a jug of sangria while watching the world go by, we went for the white sangria with citrus fruits. It was delicious- refreshing and fruity. Would definitely recommend stopping for a drink here while in Belém, we didn’t eat... More

Staying in Belem

Neighbourhood Profile
Belém is the "capital of the Portuguese Discoveries" and a photographer's paradise. You can spend an entire day exploring this neighborhood: monuments (Jerónimos Monastery, Belém Tower, Monument to the Discoveries), museums (Coach Museum, Centro Cultural de Belém) and breathtaking views of the Tagus river will make your visit worth your time. Belém also offers a variety of restaurants and cafes, namely the famous - and delicious - "Pastéis de Belém" (typical Portuguese custard tarts; make sure you buy an extra box of those!). Easily accessible from Lisbon's historic center, Belém is a must-do, especially if you're spending more than one day visiting the Portuguese capital.
