LISBON ZOO – GO AROUND THE WORLD IN JUST ONE DAY

At Lisbon Zoo, we invite you to travel around the world without leaving Lisbon. Find the Sumatran Tigers in the dense vegetation of the Rainforest, observe lions, giraffes and elephants behaviour at the dry African Savannah and dazzle with the majestic flight of the colourful birds of South America.

Our mission is to develop and promote a zoological and botanical park, as a centre of conservation, reproduction and reintroduction of endangered species, through scientific investigation and environmental enrichment programs.

Along with education is a strong entertainment component that will ensure a great family time, always with the conviction that when visiting Lisbon Zoo you’re contributing to this great project of conservations of endangered species and their habitats.

Dolphin show

Nice zoo. I especially liked the dolphin show. We attended also the birds presentation, which we liked. However it is done only in Portuguese.

I went to spend the day at the zoo with my boyfriend and we had a really great day. It is cheaper than other zoos that I've gone (20 euros per person, or something like that) I was invited to touch a dolphin in the show and I bought a picture for 5 euros (in other zoos is more expensive).... More

It will cost you around 20 € to enter. It'sa place where you can spend a whole day though. It's definitely worth visiting. Might be costly if you have a few kids.

Last year as soon as we arrived in Portugal, my daughters went to the zoo for a summer activity, where they spent the day 'working' and learning about the zoo life. They love it! And after that my wife and I went for a visit with some friends and we absolutely love our day there. Beautiful animal, well treated, a... More

The Lisbon Zoo is very clean and organized. You can see that there is a very big variety of animals and they are well fed and well treated. You can also see dolphins shows.

Nice zoo, we usually try to see the zoos in the different countries we visit. This one didn't disappoint. It was well laid out, easy to find and a great way to spend a day

Such a beautiful zoo. I am not a fan of places where animals are kept in small spaces (no rhyme intended), but we wanted to do something since we had very few days in Lisbon and the zoo was very close. I was surprised how nice it was, how beautiful the animals were, we got to see so many. The... More

Well laid out Zoo with a good variety of animals. Enclosures were of a decent size. The zoo is very involved with conservation and the preservation of endangered species. The information boards explained their role in conservation.

The Lisbon Zoo is easy to get to via the Metro - there is a station just next to the entrance. We spent the morning at Benfica Stadium and, as it wasn't far - about 35 minutes easy walk, we decided to combine it with the zoo. The zoo is not too big itself but has a great variety of... More

This zoo is a great experience. We spent almost the whole day walking around, watching the animals, playing in the playground next to the zoo... also had one of the best burgers ever in a little restaurant Tosta zoo (next to McDonalds). The place is not too big, so it's perfect with children. There is also a little cable car... More
