LISBON ZOO – GO AROUND THE WORLD IN JUST ONE DAY At Lisbon Zoo, we invite you to travel around the world without leaving Lisbon. Find the Sumatran Tigers in the dense vegetation of the Rainforest, observe lions, giraffes and elephants behaviour at the dry African Savannah and dazzle with the majestic flight of the colourful birds of South America. Our mission is to develop and promote a zoological and botanical park, as a centre of conservation, reproduction and reintroduction of endangered species, through scientific investigation and environmental enrichment programs. Along with education is a strong entertainment component that will ensure a great family time, always with the conviction that when visiting Lisbon Zoo you’re contributing to this great project of conservations of endangered species and their habitats.

The zoo is nicely laid out and has a good selection of animal exhibits. The dolphin show was a particular highlight. Some of the animals (the brown bear in particular) look rather sad and could do with much better enclosures.

This is a magic place built inside the busy Lisbon city. It is still showing some of the elements that one made it a great place to visit. Yet it seems it stopped in time, with little or innefective investment to keep it in line...More

Parking! Where do I start, minimal, difficult to locate so after 45mins ended up parking on a side road near some apartments - not ideal for us or the residents. We traveled over an hour and public transport from our location was not practical. Drove...More

Schedule is on the website and there are different times for summer and winter shows. Assume you're referring to the Dolphin show as there is also a sea-lion and bird show. I recently went to the Dolphin show and there was... More

The metro goes right to the zoo. Walk across the street from the station and there it is.

You have the opportunity to take a picture with a sealion and tropical birds after specified show times. Of course, the petting (children's) zoo area is also available. The rest would be from the fence that separates you.
