Very nice view of the streets below hillside but the area here and nearby is the biggest selling point.
Wonderful area to visit in Lisbon. Lovely vibe. So much atmosphere - day and night. Fabulous fountain looks great at night. A small park below the main viewing area is a great place to sit and enjoy the view as well as people watching. The big draw is the views of the streets below and the hillside points of interest and the coastline. Not overly spectacular but pretty good views of the city below and around. A lot of cranes around when I was here to spoil some of the view but still very worthwhile. Weather on a nice day can add to it. But the whole of this area is the selling point. Lots of restaurants, bars, shops and nearby attractions make it a place to go and then explore from.

    Beautiful view of the City
One of the best Miradouros (Viewpoints) in Lisbon. It has a fountain, few restaurants, but the most important is the panoramic views of the city. From here you can see the Miradouro Senhora do Monte with its iconic tree, the Castle of Saint George and few areas of the city of Lisbon.

A Place to Chat and Chill
Just across from my Hostel, I was surprised to find this place. Stunning views of Lisbon interspersed with neighbourhood parks, the Castle and Cathedral. Even in the rain it had a mesmeric feel about it. I was told that many people gather here to relax, play chess, read or just chat and chill. The fact that it so clean doesn't hurt. An unexpected bonus...

The best Miradouro in Lisbon we visited
No regrets we have chosen this one over many other viewpoints on a sunny February day to enjoy the views. Elevador de Gloria took us straight from Avenida de Liberdade (you can use your 24 hour ticket on it) to it. Spacious green area on top with lots of benches, cafe and a fountain to relax by.

    Beautifully Clear Views
This was our first lookout we visited in Lisbon and the views did not disappoint. We came just as the evening started and were able to take a lot of great photos. The azulejo was a very useful reference to identify all the different buildings seen from this lookout.

Suddenly the city open up for you
One of the excellent view points in the middle of the city only requiring some physical investment from your end. It requires a small but steep walk from Baixa-Chiado or Av. da Liberdade and suddenly the city opens up with a lovely view on sites like the Lisbon Castle. Even the Google Look Around function provides you a 1 indication what you can expect. There is of course nothing better than the real thing 😜 Maybe you even get lucky and can join one of the numerous events 🍹

    One more viewpoint
To get there you have to take funicular called Elevador da Gloria, located near the obelisk at Praca dos Restauradores. Leaving the funicular on top, turn right (go one hundred yards, up into a park) to enjoy the city view. You will see here what you expect to see - a view of the roofs of the city's houses, high-rise iconic buildings in the distance. I wouldn't come up here on purpose if you don't have anything else to do in the area. Save your energy and priceless time on your journey.

This is a large two-level observation deck, built on the walls of the aqueduct, well equipped. Flower beds, a fountain, trees, benches, and breathtaking views of Lisbon are waiting for you here. The observation deck was built in the 19th century, its name is due to the monastery of the same name São Pedro de Alcântara, which is located opposite. You can go down immediately on the funicular, or you can go further in the direction of the church of St. Roch.

We went up to Bairro Alto using the Elevator de Santa Justa then we walked to the Igreja de São Roque and then to the Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara. This viewpoint offers an interesting view of part of the city, including Avenida da Liberdade. Beautiful is the view of the Castelo de S. Jorge which is right in front, even in a higher position, standing out magnificently among the green pines of the citadel. An interesting place for some nice photos. The fact of being in Bairro Alto, the beautiful garden and a map of azulejos which explains what can be seen from the viewpoint contribute to making this mirador interesting and and it's worth the visit. To get off we then used the Estação inclinada de Glória - São Pedro de Alcântara, a short vintage funicular tramway

Day or night, if you're in Bairro Alto you must see this miradouro (lookout point). It's the second-best in Lisbon and free. It's also part of the fun Bairro Alto party and dining district and reachable by the Gloria Funicular, a tram and by foot. On weekends, a musician plays next to the kiosk where they serve drinks (or bring your own). And yes, the views of Lisbon are amazing.

This is an attractive lookout with expansive views over parts of the city, and there are fountains, benches and a cafe. The lookout can be accessed from the lower town area by the elevador Gloria. Also nearby is the fascinating Church of Sao Roque.

While vacationing in Lisbon and Porto, we tried to see as many places we can. Walking down from Jardim Botanico de Lisbon and getting cocktails at Gin Lovers bar, we stopped by Miradouro de Sao de Alcantara to enjoy the panoramic views of the city. The lookout terrace has a beautiful terrace and tiled information about the surroundings. A must see !

This is a charming viewpoint at Bairro Alto with sweeping views of eastern Lisbon including famous attractions such as Castelo de Sao Jorge. There are two levels and plenty of bench seating. You will also find food and drink stalls as well as tables if you want to have a refreshment or light bite to eat while spending time at Miradouro Sao Pedro de Alcantara.

In addition to the rewarding views, there are several other points of interest at Miradouro Sao Pedro de Alcantara including the Eduardo Coelho bust monument, the Convento de Sao Pedro de Alcantara as well as the Elevador da Gloria, funicular that climbs the hill from Baixa down below.

Well worth making the time and effort to include Miradouro Sao Pedro de Alcantara in your sightseeing endeavours in Lisbon.

This place is worth the hike up the hill or you can take a tram up. It offers amazing view of the sea, the castle and the colourful buildings and terracotta roof tops. It has a little bar at the top which you can grab drinks and ice cream. There are also benches you can sit on and admire the view. There were live performers and it made an amazing afternoon of just allowing you to soak in the beauty of the city in a really relaxing atmosphere.

It is located at the exit of the "Da Gloria" funicular. Beautiful panoramic point overlooking the Alfama and the Baixa, full of tourists and locals relaxing. To be seen. I recommend getting there with the Da Gloria Funicular, here the waiting times are acceptable (compared to Tram28) and in a few minutes you will be up, the route is not very long but really steep. I absolutely recommend Viva Viagem on which to load daily tickets to take all the means of transport in Lisbon (trams, elevators, metro).
