During our stay in Lisbon, we visited this place twice. Just to have a drink in the sun with a view over the city and the Old Castle in the background. The place is not a crowded place, but enough people around. Prices are normal and the service is with a smile. Only disadvantage: not able to pay with card.... More

At the top of the Gloria elevador, we had 3 lovely early evening drink sessions here watching the sun go down over the castle (and the antics of local labourers fixing things). Various booths offering shots of port, wine etc or a range of gins, cocktails, beer and snacks. Nice atmosphere and we always ended up talking to others. Didn't... More

In my humble opinion this is the best Miradouro of Lisbon, not only you can enjoy beautiful views of the city, but you can also have one of the best Pasteis de Belem ever! Do not miss a night visit, you can have a quiet drink here, taking in the beautifully lit city before you head to the Barrio alto.... More

The Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcãntara was a few steps away from where we were dropped by the Elevador da Glória. It had gorgeous, incredible views of Lisbon: we could see el castelo de são jorge (St. George’s Castle) watching high over the city as always; we could see all the white stone and red-topped houses, scattered with buildings... Lisbon's viewpoints are my favourite things about the city. That, and the fact you can have a glass of lovely local wine or a coffee while watching the world go by... Recommend it for everyone visiting Lisbon.

We loved the sweeping views from the Tagus River to Castelo de São Jorge and beyond as well as the morning market with unique artwork. We especially enjoyed talking with a local artist(see Quadricula.pt).

Like many other places in Lisbon, you have to see the view from here. Memorable places that you will see every time you will close your eyes.

Fantastic views of the city both day and night. Lovely outside cafe\bar in the square and a small market too.

Staying in Chiado & Carmo

Neighbourhood Profile
Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally, "squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used to. You can also enjoy breathtaking views of Lisbon from the Elevador de Santa Justa or the Carmo Convent, for example. A commercial neighborhood at its core, especially for its Garrett and Carmo streets, Chiado is to this day a mandatory visit in Lisbon.
