I've done about a half dozen Segway tours in different parts of the world (Newport Beach CA, USA to Paris to Barcelona and elsewhere). This one was the most memorable, partly because Lisbon is so extraordinary and partly because our guide Peter was just brilliant. These tours live and die on the quality of the guide, his/her personality, knowledge, and above... More

Peter, the (self pronounced) earl of the Segway, made our trip a great experience. With interesting and fun stories is was really worthwhile. We recommend him and his organization highly.

Cannot wait to do it again. Both my 22 year old daughter and I took the tour. It was great and covered enough. Our big trill was the Segway. After a short training with Manuel our instructor, we were on our way. No issues, no accidents and a super experience. My daughter Lauren's confidence grew every minute. By the end... More

I was skeptical going in. I worried that a Segway would be too difficult to manage for our group of diverse ages (as young as 12) or that my friends would be bored or find it hokey. Instead, everyone had an incredible time and I became the hero for being the one to find and book the tour! First off,... More

We arrived there and the workers were on time to put us on the Segways. We had our guide Ruben who would guide us all around the small streets of Lisbon. I learned so much more about Lisbon. SURELY RECOMMENDED!!!

This Segway tour, Guided by Ruben was stunning. The timing was perfect and all monuments seen were beautiful. We got told a lot of information and fun facts by Ruben. I can say with confidence that I got to know the city a lot better.

Peter was a great tour guide. He was so knowledgeable. I learned a lot about Portuguese history and thereby world history. He was very personable. I started with a one hour tour and extended it to two hours because it was so great.

Last week we did a segway tour throught the Alfama. Bjorn and Bruno were our guides. The tour was fantastic , Bjorn gave us perfect instructions to make us feel secure. For most of us it was the first time and after a while we were all relaxed and enjoying. All over the tour we get interesting stories about the... More

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
