Our guides Francisca and Bernardo were great for the Delicious tour taking us all over the place including stops for food and drinks. Due to having no laws currently in place we were able to navigate from pavement to road and up and dwn some steep terrain. Initially I didn't think segway would be that fun but I was really... More

Peter and Matt were both fantastic guides. Peter's knowledge of Lisbon and its history was impressive. He was a terrific, patient leader for our group - we had a blast! The time passed quickly we were having so much fun, and we wished we could extend the tour longer. It's a great way to see and understand Lisbon. It was... More

I strolled into LbS early one afternoon hoping to join a Segway tour that included viewing and tasting some highlights of Lisbon. Unfortunately there were no tours going because no one had booked (low season) and a minimum of 2 pax is required. Well the nice folks here agreed to take me on my own to see some of the... More

My wife and I like to Segway wherever we can. This was a great 2 hour trip to the Alfama up and down hills which gave us a great time riding the Segway as well as giving an easy opportunity to take in the views of the city. Manuel was a great guide. Would definitely go again.

Peter was fantastic right from the second we walked into the shop. He was knowledgeable of Lisbon and London, having grown up in both regions and very easy to talk too. We booked the 2.5hr delicious tour which took us up and around the Alfama neighborhood of narrow cobbled streets. Segway was by far the best option for the steep... More

Tour Lisbon up and down from the waterfront to the steep hills and alleyways of the Alfama. We saw much more than we would have seen by walking or taking the trolley. The very narrow alleys and confusing, winding streets that wind their way up to the castle became too narrow for cars, but Segways were an enjoyable way to... More

We have been around in Lisbonne, despite bad weather, and finally we found it great even if we got a shower to start...Simon did take some protection for us. We stopped for a lunch in a typical and delighting restaurant in a small street which we would never have found ourselves. Simon gave us many info and was very carful... More

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
