After 4 days in Lisbon we were looking for things to do so decided to visit the Oceanarium and were pleasantly surprised at how well laid out and clean it was. The place was busy but we never felt crowded out, d finitely would recommend visiting it.

Initially, we thought this would be just another aquarium but figured while we were there we should stop in to check it out. I am so glad we did! It was amazing with beautiful exhibits and we spent a man half the day there and could have stayed the full day. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the... More

We (family with four Persons) were really impressed about the combination of the different ocean-climates in one concept! Especially when there`s bad weather a very good option in Lisbon!

Worth to visit the Oceanarium. Words do not describe the fascinating sea world presented by the Oceanarium.

Fabulous facility, easy to get to on the Metro, with a great cafeteria too. The open plan makes for many great areas to view the main tank. Big educational theme. Signs are in English and Portuguese

A bit out of town but worth the journey. Was a bit sceptical about the fish been in tanks etc due to cruelty but there is a massive drive re conservation etc and its supported by the WWF so it seems ok. Great number of species to see and the huge tank in the middle is awesome.

Brilliant. Very informative, with attractive exhibits. Portugal are showing their conservation efforts here. The sea otters are especially endearing

Nice layout and plenty of things to see. From the advertising posters etc I thought there would be more sharks but there wasn't. Good day out. Ok for money.

Staying in Parque das Nacoes

Neighbourhood Profile
Parque das Nacoes
This neighborhood was built up at the end of the 1990s mostly because of the Expo '98. The pavilions and structures that once were the home of all the Expo's attractions and exhibits are still culturally and artistically significant. In Parque das Nações you'll explore conference and concert pavilions, a shopping center, trendy restaurants and an enjoyable cable car ride you can't miss out on. On top of this, the amazing Lisbon Oceanarium (one of the most spectacular things you'll ever see in the city) will take your breath away: its respect and will to preserve natural wildlife is uncanny. Easily accessible by metro, bus or taxi from the city center, Parque das Nações is highly recommended for anyone who'll spend more than 3 days in the Portuguese capital.
