A modern, well maintained aquarium, it is a delight to visit. Good mix of ecologies and the Penguin habitat is great. I was pleasantly surprised by the high standards of care I observed. I also was impressed that explanations were concise. Highly recommended for everyone.

this is one of the largest oceanarium in the world, with fish and other sea creatures from all over... staff is very helpful and the visit is really nice and relaxing. A great way to spend a part of the afternoon

...You'll love it here. If you are not a fan, don't waste your time. This is a typical aquarium and you won't be converted. In short: The oceanarium is creatively designed around a central tank and easy to navigate with interesting signage Portuguese and English. The interactive park directly outside was interesting and would be fun for kids to test... More

The aquarium is very nice, large tanks with different species. Sometimes it lacks info on the fish but it is a great experience if you like marine animals. It´s located outside Lisbon city centre but in a lovely place. You can plan to go in the morning and have lunch nearby. I suggest Chimarrão if you enjoy bbq meat.

This aquarium has a huge central tank that you circle as you make your way through the four different ocean zones. The center tank is filled with the big guys - sharks, groupers, rays, even a little sunfish. There are schooling fish as well. As you visit the other areas, the path always brings you back to the big tank,... More

my wife and I had a good time overthere. Exuberant species and a great structure make you feel comfortable spending your time in oceanarium.

You can admire very beautiful habitats and many kind of fishes with a very clear explanation. unfortunately i couldn't visit the temporary exhibition because arrived at 5:30 and closing time was at 7 pm.

Good place to visit, interesting and nice expositions, quite interesting informations around. For me actually temporary exposition was more interesting than main one (But this was made by details like less people and special exposition). Anyway time and money well spent

Staying in Parque das Nacoes

Neighbourhood Profile
Parque das Nacoes
This neighborhood was built up at the end of the 1990s mostly because of the Expo '98. The pavilions and structures that once were the home of all the Expo's attractions and exhibits are still culturally and artistically significant. In Parque das Nações you'll explore conference and concert pavilions, a shopping center, trendy restaurants and an enjoyable cable car ride you can't miss out on. On top of this, the amazing Lisbon Oceanarium (one of the most spectacular things you'll ever see in the city) will take your breath away: its respect and will to preserve natural wildlife is uncanny. Easily accessible by metro, bus or taxi from the city center, Parque das Nações is highly recommended for anyone who'll spend more than 3 days in the Portuguese capital.
