Part of Lisbon's skyline

After walking up to Miradouro de Santo Estevao, the church is across the courtyard. It is a prominent part of the skyline of Lisbon. On the side of the church is a beautiful fountain, surrounded by tiles! Only a 5 minute walk from Fado Museum.

What a contrast between inside and outside

No wonder I am the first one to write a few words about this church. It's very blah and unassuming on the outside, but beautifully baroque, ornate and rich on the inside. What a contrast. The church sits right in the heart of the Alfama neighborhood. We would have passed it had it not been for my interest in old churches.
