1,858 reviews
Unless you rent a car, traveling between the dispersed landmarks of Sintra and Cascais is a difficult task. Journey along Lisbon’s Atlantic coast with ease on a small-group day trip, limited to just eight people to guarantee personalized attention from your guide. Take a guided tour of the UNESCO-listed Pena National Palace, enjoy time at your leisure in the historic center of Sintra, and stop at the affluent coastal town of Cascais.

Just like another Castle with history around it. The view of the Lisbon city from the top of it is worth it. Once can visit if time permits else once can skip it

We didn't enter the fort but it is pretty large and quite impressive even from the outside. We only went into Cascais at night so we were pretty sure it wasn't open to the public at that time, it is beautifully lit though at night so still worth a few minutes of your attention.

At the Forte de São Jorge de Oitavos (Fort of São Jorge de Oitavos), you gain a broader perception of aspects related to the construction of the fort and its role as a military device, It also addresses issues related to the development of artillery and uniforms, resorting to replicas of uniforms and antique prints, as well as the instruments that were used in the former bunker and which serviced the cannons. Definitely good to view, great view of the sea and a must on a hot day.

Or else a slight Star Wars feel, take your pick! Admission is inexpensive but it's mostly the views from the outside that make it a good place to stop for a while.
