Great course but clubhouse and prices could be off putting

Played this course on 20th June 2016 in what must be said to be hot, sunny weather albeit a little windy. The staff in the reception/pro shop were very welcoming and helpful... read more

Travelled with my wife for 5 nights here. The golf course is one I love to play. Yes it can be difficult. It is expensive but worth it. If you like a modern hotel with great facilities you will love this hotel. Not everyones cup of tea as regards how it is laid out. However comfortable. Great food. Try the clubhouse... More

I deliberately checked when they'd be hollow coring before electing to book a stay at The Oitavos and round of golf. They said they'd be finished 5 weeks earlier than our visit. In reality, because of an alleged breakdown of the coring machine they finished 5 days before our visit. These things happen. But when they do discounts have been... More

When you arrive the clubhouse is ultra modern and you can see that they have tried very hard to keep the surrounding landscape as natural as possible. Personal opinion is I liked it but the rest of our 4 ball thought it just looked scruffy! Booking in was efficient in the Pro shop but a bit hap-hazard when we went... More

This course relies heavily on its top 100 rating (58th in the world) to draw you in. Once you get there here is what you can expect: A good links style course with nice views and typical ocean-side wind. To clarify it is set back a bit and not on the ocean like other famous top 100 courses. As for... More

We played this course 3 times during our holiday and the wind never dropped below 30 miles an hour which made the course very difficult the price to hire buggy's is expensive and there is a lack of toilets on the course not a course I would recommend for holiday golf

Played this course on 20th June 2016 in what must be said to be hot, sunny weather albeit a little windy. The staff in the reception/pro shop were very welcoming and helpful; they had us booked in in no time. However, €70 for a buggy is a rip off (the course is quite flat so if you can manage it... Just about to embark on our 10th time playing this course. I remember it when there was no hotel, but even with this now in place, the course is not overly busy. We are slowly getting used to the course and scores are improving ever year. Great staff and course is always in great condition. Would recommend to any golfer... More

Played this course for the third time today and enjoyed the challenge of a links course but was disappointed by the fact there was no clubhouse to have drink after the game. We walked the course due to the extortionate price of €70 for a buggie. The fairways and greens were in reasonable condition but the tees had not been... More

I was really excited about playing this course when I read that Golf Magazine ranked it in the top 100 in the world in 2013. Not sure who did the ranking, but I can't believe they were a golfer. Is the course okay? Sure. A par 72 with good length and challenges. The greens were okay, but not up to... More

With 40€ rental clubs and a 105€ green fee and trolley, we walked this course and registered about 50 flights of stairs and 19000 steps on our Fitbits; so it is walkable only for the pretty fit. The wildflowers were terrific and the course pleasant but there were quite a few trick shots where you could go OB or in... More
