This museum is dedicated to the work of Paula Rego, a British-Portuguese artist. The building is stunning and the work of Paula Rego is intriguing as always. The museum isn’t far from the centre of Cascais and if you like art with a twist you...More

Such a huge disappointment. We travelled all the way from Lisbon to Cascais only to be told that the gallery was closed but that we could visit the cafeteria and shop. There were three male receptionists enjoying their job of being paid to do very...More

Came upon this place by chance. Really brilliant exhibitions of Paula Rego's work. Well worth a visit!

On a rainy and stormy day the visit of the Paula Rego's museum was a good idea. The architecture is very special and makes you wonder what you'll see. The artist P.R. said "I paint to give fear a face"(folktales and fairy tales). Before visiting...More

Whilst Paula Rego was born in Portugal, and many of her themes are based on folk tales and fairy stories from that country. She studied at the Slade School in London at the same time as David Hockney and Frank Auerbach and lives and works...More

This lovely, modern building devoted to the artist Paula Rego is a great tribute to one of Portugal's best modern painters. Sadly, she has included some of her poorest work as exhibits. I guess she has sold most of the good stuff. She has even...More

The striking imagery in this collection will stay with you long after your visit. Very much pre-Disney. Important and worth a visit.

I get it, different artists have different views over things. But this was too dark for my taste. If you don't want to ruin your childhood images over fairy tales that you heard back then, stay out of this museum. Went in, walked fast, went...More

This is the second time we visited Cascais to see Paula Rego's work. This time there was a large and fascinating exhibition. Do check on the current exhibition as they change fairly often If it is a good exhibition you can't do better.

A very relaxed space just a very short walk from the habour. Uncluttered spaces with a cracking exhibition. Wish we'd found the cafe with it's simple menu earlier.

I didn't get a chance to see the exhibition, but this place is all about the architecture for me, which is different and unique - at least by local standards - and makes for some great photos.
