This is a rather old church (maybe 10th century) which was redone in Baroque style. The main feature is a painting depicting St Bartholomew's martyrdom, otherwise just a nice church.

Modest but beautiful church located in the historic center of Coimbra in the main street Rua dos Esteiros. This is a simple example of Baroque architecture, and certainly not the best I've ever seen in my life but it is worthy of note. Very nice facade although it would need a light restored. The Church of St. Bartolomew is located at Rua dos Esteiros, 1. It is known in Portuguese as the Igreja de São Bartolomeu. The church was built in the 10th century and reconstructed in the 12th and 18th centuries. The reconstruction in the 12th century turned it into a Romanesque church.
