Our hotel suggested we walk along the river, cross the bridge and walk along the other side back to the bridge most near our location. It was so pretty, so relaxing and quite enjoyable! We did it twice, not only enjoying our walk but also people watching, too, to see how the locals had relaxing days/nights. We even talked to some who were doing some activities in the park to find out the groups in which they were involved, and we ate dinner one night at a restaurant adjacent to the river. It was wonderful!

My husband & I crossed this bridge both during the day and at night. There is a charming park located near the bridge as well as a botanical garden that offers a climb up to the old University. Don't miss the views at night when the historical city & fountain in the river are all lit up! Simply magical!

The colorful pedestrian bridge (which lights up at night), the gigantic topiary-like green bear and the water fountain (which changes color at night) in the middle of the Mondego River are enchanting! Public walkways along the river bring direct access to the river & water fowl. This park provides a quiet respite from the busy streets of Coimbra. It is a favorite with the locals!

This park is in desperate need of uplift and maintenance. The Mondego river crests havoc at time, but it is no excuse for leaving it in the state it is.

We took a stroll on Christmas day and walked through this park. They had just had some terrible storms and flooding, so we saw some of the effects of that. But still a beautiful place to take a walk.

Wonderful park in both margins of the river Mondego. South margin is best for sunbathing, water sports, including kayaks and stand-up paddle for rent and the water is perfectly safe for a bath. There is a pedestrian bridge linking the river margins.

this is the place to take your shoes off, lay back on the grass, and enjoy the view. There's the town, capped by the jewel of the University, across the river. There are boats, rowing up and down the river. Down the way a local fisherman waits for one of his long, slender poles to dip. Slow down. Breathe. enjoy.

We walked along this pretty path after touring around the city. It is a pleasant place to stroll along the river and there was a restaurant that looked like it might be a nice place to relax and grab a little bite to eat. They appear to be working on the park, perhaps fixing it up a bit as there was apparently bad river flooding in 2016 that destroyed much it.
