Reserved a fado show of 50 minutes. Slightly disappointing because quite few fado songs and a hot, not well ventilated room. The fact that people with a passion for fado performed, made it all ok. They deserve our support. :-)

We missed the traditional Fado show while we were in Lisbon. However, Fado ao Centro delivers a great fado experience with a twist:) The ambient of the theater is intimate and cozy. At the end of the show, you can purchase their CDs and meet...More

Fado in Coimbra is all about tradition and the university students. This wonderful performance connected us to the music and history with song, stories and film clips. It is romantic with drama and black capes and musicians sharing their own individual talent and stories to...More

What's nice about this is that it is not only a Coimbra fado concert, but also an informative introduction to the phenomenon, explaining how it originated and other interesting things about it. The show takes only one hour, but it's totally worth it, as it's...More

A very intimate experience with current and former Uni students trying to maintain the history of Coimbra Fado.Uniquely this Fado version featured only males in contrast to the version we had seen in Lisbon

We went this evening to a show at 6pm and we loved it. The only disadvantage is that it was too short - just one hour. The two guitar players were very good -especially the Coimbra guitar player who is fantastic. The two male singers...More

The hour-long concert and glass of port are very enjoyable. The musicians seem to be accomplished (not an expert in fado), and had no problem being heard without amplification. Spoken commentary in Portuguese and English gives you a bit of background on Coimbra fado and...More

This is a very nice evening. The setting is intimate. The singers and players are good, and the explanations and multimedia presentations are interesting. It’s only fifty minutes, and at the end of it you can drink a glass of port and chat with some...More
