Although its just a small, simple little attraction - the tiling on the walls tell the story of Aveiro, and provide some context between the old ways vs. the new. Beautiful tiles, a wonderful story, and a nice little stop that helps you get the history of the town. We loved it.

This train station is beautiful specially fot irs tiles. It is not big but it is charming and nice. Many people go there because of its building.

This station is very attractive for the visitors as on outside walls of the old Railway Station are many artwork tiles representing the old times life in Portugal. This is hertiage place which requires now extra funds for a better maintenance.

Tiny train station that was able to combine it's old heritage with a modern set up. Stop a while and observe the tiles (azulejos) just outside of it :) beautiful work

Well worth visiting to see the tile murals on the old station building, although better examples can be found in Porto railway station.

Not much to see inside all the artwork and tiles are on the outside . Worth a 10 min look and a pic.

Having seen the tiles to the outside of the station when arriving, we promised ourselves we'd explore them when we used the railway to go to Coimbra. On returning we saw that there are almost as many of these tiled scenes within the station as outside. They are to be found along the far left of linha 1 (platform 1)... More

Pretty old station. Very helpful staff. We asked which exit to take but the guardian accompanied us straight out and gave us exact info.

Well worth the 20 minute walk from the centre, these old buildings showcase the blue and white tiling of old Portugal. They also have larger tiled pictures depicting Aveiro from times gone by,

Take the time to walk up the Avenida to the train station. Adjacent to the station is an historical monument in the form of a train station. The exterior walls are covered in the finest examples of the craftsmanship of Portuguese azuleiros (tile) makers. Be sure to go in to the new train station to see the other wall of... More
