The service was great. The whole team was very attentive and answered my requests for a stay in the Douro. I loved the suggestions. We ended up choosing Quinta da Pacheca and visited some nearby wineries. It was a memorable weekend! Thank you!

I love wines and my husband love to eat, so Vanessa designed a tour for us that soon aroused our curiosity. The Portugal by wine's team was very helpful. They clarified our doubts and did their best to adapt the program because of my food allergy. The highlight for us was Quinta Nova! The scenery is amazing, and we took a couple of great photos there. Besides, the wines are excellent! At Quinta da Pacheca, we were very welcomed and the cooking class was fun and we now know how to recreate Douro dishes in our own home! My wine enthusiast husband wanted to go on a more boutique style wine tour in Portugal as he prefers to meet the winemakers speaking with them about their journey and of course taste the delights of their produce. A more intimate experience than the bus loads of people turning up and moving in a pack to the next one. After a lot of research, I found Portugal By Wine - sounded exactly what we wanted to do! I made contact and from that minute Vanessa put the wheels in motion to provide us with a fantastic itinerary. She listened to everything we wanted and the result was just perfect. We were taken around by the very informative, lovely Nelson who provided us with Portuguese Egg Tarts each day - delicious! His knowledge of the country was a real asset and we became good friends as well. Vanessa arranged an itinerary that included many wineries where we were able to spend time with the families who ran them, and who were so happy to see people being genuinely interested in their businesses and the quality of their wines. We even stayed a couple of nights at one of them, taking in the wonderful hospitality offered. The meals we had throughout the tour were top notch - paired with quality wine - just brilliant! The tour also included a picturesque boat ride which will forever be in our memories. Whilst we chose mainly wine orientated activities there are a whole host of options to consider. After scrolling the web looking for a suitable wine tour for my wine enthusiast husband, I came across Portugal by Wine. I cannot rate this company, Vanessa in particular, more highly in providing a trip of a lifetime. My husband wanted to experience a more intimate, non touristy type of wine tour which showcased the magnificent wines and experiences Portugal had to offer. After a many emails back and forth sorting out our requirements and the practical way to go about it, Vanessa provided an exceptional itinerary catering for our individual needs. Nothing was too much trouble and communication was excellent. Options were aplenty and we really had control over what we wanted or did not want. She just went with what we wanted to do and organised it to perfection. The tour was nothing short of magnificent, with so many elements that allowed my husband to fulfil his desire to experience Portuguese wines. The food, the people, the accommodation and not least the driver, Nelson, were tremendous and will always be a highlight in his memories.
