This was the first time I had ever visited Ponta da Ferraria. The water was amazing- a hot spring in the ocean!

Amazing tidal pool where hot water meets cold sea water. Well worth a visit, we went twice, finding it less busy early morning but be warned the life guards won’t be there. There are ropes across the pool that you can hang on to as...More

This was a great place to experience. Not too busy but do check the tide times. The closer you can get to low tide the warmer the pool. There are changing rooms, showers, refreshments, big car park, and easy to walk down to.

Well worth the drive. The sensation of the warm water in the pool and then the cold water from the ocean coming into the pool is something I will never forget. The perfect way to relax for a short while. Bonus in the pool and...More

Place is a little out of the way with a steep narrow road down to the parking lot, but definitely worth the trip! Rocky coastline - not a sandy beach, so make sure to bring some shoes to walk on the rocks. Water is clear...More

Top tip from another visitor was to take a mask. Small person spent the entire time head down watching loads of fish. Although it seemed busy there is lots of room and the novelty of the bath temperature water is great! Swimming out through the...More

A very picturesque place. The tarmac road is ok, I am not a first rate driver and we rented a (big) automatic, and it was ok. Pretty steep, but not extra narrow. However, we walked down (and up) when we first visited it and it...More

I had the same question! There is a great (and free) app that anyone coming to the Azores should download on their phone. It's called "Spot Azores" and it has a live webcam feed for many of the major attractions on the... More
