Although we started out on a perfectly clear and sunny day, once we got to Lagoa das Sete Cidades, it was totally foggy and we couldn't see a thing. Later we learned that there are webcams and you can log in to see the conditions...More

There are many different view points, all are good, hiking between them is good. Don't skip going near the water, it is really interesting to see the dividing line between the two color.

Make sure to view this beautiful place from Vista Do Rei. Also, the SATA azores app helps you decide on when to go to this destination. You can view the place beforehand using webcams. This place is completely hidden on a cloudy/ rainy day.

We rented a car and drove there on our own. That way we were able to go at our own speed and stop and hike. It's an easy drive as long as you are comfortable driving on narrow roads!
