This beach with black sand is just incredible. We went there on a really windy day, with some extremely large waves kicking in. Good thing the life guards where on duty.

Stunning views across to Pico in a charming bay. Had a drink at a very uncharacteristically modern but nice restaurant by the sea.

A refreshingly different menu, well-presented and very tasty food, nice ambience, and a stunning view looking out to Pico. Not cheap - but well worth a visit!

Our guide said the sands here were the finest on the island. We stayed a while teasing the waves and taking some pics. There is a rinsing area upwards where you can clean yourself and your shoes before getting back to the car. There are...More
