This is the highest point in southern Portugal and based on this and the gorgeous views on the drive up and back down, it's probably worth a trip if you have time. You will need your own vehicle, though, and the fortitude to navigate some very steep (and sometimes poorly paved or unpaved, depending on your route) mountain roads that are poorly signed. There's a couple of gift shops at the top as well, one with gorgeous but overpriced local crafts and another with more budget-friendly trinkets and clothes. There's also a food truck we didn't try that's down a short path from the summit.

After a long and many times winding road from Portimão we reached the summit of Mount Foia. Can be cold, even on a warm day. Good views to the coast. Cafe & artisans shops at the top. Pay telescope for closer coastal views.

NB!!!!!!!!! PLEASE NOTE THE WATER FROM THE LITTLE SPRING (WHERE YOU SEE PEOPLE FILING BOTTLES UP) IS CONTAMINATED BY THE LOCAL COUNCIL WITH CHLORINE. WE ASK YOU PLEASE TO MAKE A COMPLAINT TO THE CAMARA MUNICIPAL (LOCAL COUNCIL) THEY SAY THEY HAVE ORDERS FROM THE E.U TO DO THIS.

Nice view of the coast from both sides. Big parking lots and a nice place to stop after visiting Monochique. Of note is a REALLY NICE artists collective with everything from cork, embroidery, jewelry and wicker. It’s hard to find down in town but the crafters are all here. Also a cafe as well as what has to be the best food truck location.

An amazing observation point at a high altitude. There are walking and bike paths, there are restaurants and foottracks and shops with souvenirs. A must visit

The most higher view of algarve. From here one can see up to Sagres in the west and up to Faro in the east.
On the way there a beautifull scenery.

Very nice place with amazing views.
The highest point in the Algarve - after we visited the second highest point on the jeep safari - even though it was a bit cloudy while we were there.
Amazing views as is to be expected, but nice little café on top of the mountain, which as seemed to be a nice theme in the Algarve, wasn't expensive. They could have charged what they wanted with their monopoly but chose not to, so hats off to them!

Not far from where we were staying, so had to visit! I great place for a good view! Nice and windy :)
The let down are all the huge pylons - but we realise they are a necessity.
The crafts shop is really good. Other shops weren;t any different to what you get in a beach town. We didn't go in the cafe, so can't comment on that - but they did charge us for using the loo!
