You can not miss this sculpture in the main square in Lagos, quite unusual, but well worth taking a closer look at, if your in the area.

Interesting carved stone statue in a lovely square with lots of bars and restaurants.
Very often good street performers too.

If you've 30 mins to kill when visiting Lagos - find a seat at an outside bar or restaurant and take in the atmosphere, even better with a chilled glass of vinho verde!

Dom Sebastião (Portuguese king) died very young, fighting against the moors in North Africa. As he didn’t have children, and as the Spanish king (Filipe II) was the son of a Portuguese princess, he inherited the Portuguese throne and Portugal was ruled by the Spaniards during 60 years. The sculptor (Cutileiro) was very effective in representing a child wearing adult outfit. Enjoy!

Cute statue in the middle of a nice and lively square, in the very center of old Lagos...lots of different characters hanging out here, and a busker will always be around too, adding to the atmosphere!

Standing smack in the center of the praca in Lagos is this statue of Dom Sebastiao, king of Portugal in the late 1600s. I did not quite know what to make of his attire, to be honest. What I liked was that the dark cobblestones as well as the business establishments were arranged in such a way that they revolved around the statue which, to me, presented a nice photo shoot on a quiet day.

If you’re in the area it’s worth checking out but I certainly wouldn’t go out of my way to see it. Nothing spectacular

You can't help to see this statue in the main square of the town. Quirky, yes, interestingly different, yes. No need to search it out, it will find you.

Very prominent and you can't really miss it if you are wandering around Lagos. Worth a photo with your phone
