This is not as elaborate as St. Anthony's nor does it have a museum as part of the admission, but it is a lovely church to see and an antidote of simplicity to the illustrations of St. Antony. I liked both very much.

Nice little church just off the square. This is a very normal little church, with a beautiful ceiling and alter with a lovely window which lets in a great deal of light. Nothing ostentatious but these are the churches I like, the ones that are...More

Igreja de Santa Maria is breathtaking in it`s simplicity. A very peachful place to sit, rest and pray in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Lagos.

Nothing ostentatious about this church, it's very minimal and beautiful in its simplicity. It seemed to be still very active with the community. I visited on Easter and saw something scheduled every two hours.

If you like churches, this is well worth a visit if you are in Lagos. We found it rather unusual for various reasons but we won't spoil the surprise.

Not as impressive as many of the ornate tile covered churches, this church does have a pretty alter area. Located by the slave market it makes a short stop on the sightseeing tour of Lagos.

This church is just off the square in the old town and worth popping into. There is a window just above the altar which seems to fill the church with sunshine. The church is small and quite charming in its simplicity. It reflects the surrounding...More
