The beach is great and big, but basically it gets very windy as part of its location on the "Berlavento Algarvio" and because the sand is so thin, you'll get it all that over you, specially in the afternoons!

The beach is stunning and is worth a visit. Be warned the sea is the atlantic so it's very cold. There are some good water sports available (weather permitting).

Easy to access, especially with the little boat crossing on the main Lagos promenade. with its size there is plenty of space. Yes, its windy - spend a day in Lagos and that will not surprise you. Very clean, gorgeous waters - easy enough to...More

I don't know why anyone would choose this beach over the others; yes it is close but it only takes 15 minutes to walk from the town to Dona Ana etc. This beach has no character, visibly unremarkable and was so breezy it made the...More

Fantastic long, flat beach with safe bathing, ideal for children. As it is about 3 miles long, you can always get an area to yourself if you want a quieter spot, particularly if you head out of town along the beach. Several decent beach bars...More

I don´t know if you mean Paddle Boards or canoes? Becaue there were several canoe tours starting from beaches in Lagos. I did not see Paddle Boards, but I don´t know if there aren´t any.

No, but the train station in Lagos is just a few minutes walk from Meia Praia (and the track passes just behind the beach). However, I agree with Scott M - there are other beaches more accessible from Faro.
