The southernmost point of continental Portugal

It's the southernmost place in the continental Portugal and a truly stunning beach. An absolute must if you're in Faro!

I have stayed in Faro a couple of times now and you should check this beautiful part of the coast out. I have been there during peak tourist season and it can get bit much with all the people but there is enough beach for everyone. I will be back to check it out again.

Take a long walk along the sandy beach to the monument at the end marking the southern most tip of Ilha Deserta, also the southern most place in Portugal. Once you are on the island, you might as well take a look.

Ok, so I went out of season and it was more brisk, breezy and bracing rather than sun-bathing weather, but it was still very much worth the 15 euros return on the boat (more expensive off-season as they are only using speedboats rather than the larger catamaran). I literally had the entire island to myself, besides the staff in the... More

This must be one of the best beaches anywhere in the world, miles and miles of lovely sand and the Atlantic Ocean.

I visited few beach in Algarve, but I think Deserta Island is the best beach in the area. Very idyllic and easy to relax and let the day go by. The beach is sandy and there is a boardwalk to arrive at this cape, that is the southerly most point of mainland Portugal, I suggest to go by the wooden... More

I couldn't imagine there was a place like this in Europe. Amazing dunes and beach covered of shells. If you enjoy quite place where you just listen the nature, sea waves and birds, this is the place. Ferry cost 10€ and you must walk 2 km to arrive at the Cape.

Not too crowded even in the summer, friendly people, life guards, restaurant, no people living in the island, Hiking trail. We suggest to stay all day long so you can explore this paradise in Algarve. You can take a ferry in Faro, everyday, and come back any time.
