Gorgeous day trip. Only one restaurant on the island. Very peaceful. Recommend you bring plenty of water and suncream and snacks. Water crystal clear and calm on Ria Formosa side, but be careful of debris under foot.

We only stayed for 2 hours but it was enough to soak up the atmosphere, and enjoy the boat trip from Faro. The island is beautiful and quiet as everyone else has mentioned in their reviews, and on the way back we had the whole...More

Wonderful place!! Came there with small group on a boat. Beach is covered with sand. The water is warm. Probably, because it is not that deep near the beach. Really enjoyed being there.

If you visit here, get one of the faster boats as it really is a thrill to speed over the water. The islands would have been great if the government or municipality considered their upkeep as an investment. Please plant a few palm trees to...More

The "desert" is really a beach with some desert elements. We paid 20€ for the ferry to take us there and back. It takes about 45, one way. You could also pay the dubble to get there three times as fast with a speed boat...More

Long sandy beaches. Not a lot oftourist, perhaps because it is so cold in the atlantic. There is a restaurant with facilities. Definitly a place to go if you are in Faro.
