Algar Seco has one of the best viewpoints in the Algarve. The cliffs are very high here so you get expansive views along the coast towards Lagos as well far out to sea. There's a small, modern church here partly converted to a cafe and plenty of scrambling.

At the top of the hill on the east side of Carvoiero is a small parking lot for algar Seco. Just beyond the parking lot is a small area with benches that makes a perfect spot for a picnic. With the light twinkling off the ocean, the gulls swooping down and the beautiful rock formations you couldn't ask for a... More

We visited Algar Seco as part of a tour by Rotatur, and were amazed by the location and the accessibility to the scenic cliffs overlooking the ocean. Great photo location.

A coastal neighborhood, really, with some amenities. The cliffs, the views, and the boardwalk are the real story. Plus there are stairs, some modern wood, some timeless ones chiseled into the limestone cliff, that allow the adventurous to scale some of the rock face.

The beautiful sea rock with the small caves, one of them with "windows" over the sea level. There is a small stair carved in the rock above the sea to cliff-jumping in.

In the town of Carvoeiro Portugal in the Algarve coast, are tons of naturally forming caves along the cliffs. There is a nice path to walk along which meanders over the cliffs, and allows for you to wander down into the caves. There are many beautiful beaches along the way as well as cafes, and restaurants. You can make the... More
