This small museum has a few artifacts displayed from elsewhere and some from the apparently disused church which houses the museum. This and other museums in the area provides well for English speakers with signs in both Portuguese and English. And entrance for the over 65s is either free or very cheap, here as in other museums in Portugal.

Sacred Art Museum is a beautiful building located in the wonderful Old Town of Albufeira that in an Old Town that albeit is very beautiful is bereft of really outstanding landmark features, this museum housed in this beautiful structure is superb ,looks amazing ,makes for some great photographic opportunities, it's a wonderful whitewashed building ,never ventured into the museum but I was most certainly impressed with this building.

Rehashing other reviews but for €2 entrance it can hardly be passed by at this price & especially contributing towards the upkeep. Lovely assortment of relics, tiles, statues, paintings & history to while away 20 minutes or so. Outstanding altar for such a tiny church. Well worth popping in.

my partner and i have passed this lovely church many times and never seen inside , it was only a few euros to get in and it goes towards the upkeep , it is such a lovely church with the most stunning alter ,really beautiful ,there are quite a few old pieces and artifacts also some history off the town and church , quite interesting and some really lovely statues and pictures , it may not be very big and take ages to go around but it is really worth a look .

When you view this tiny, 18th century chapel, now a museum, note that most of the religious figures on display, have broken or missing hands and arms. This is because they used to be housed in the Mother Church in the Old Town, which was destroyed by the Great Earthquake of 1753 and they fell forward onto their hands and arms. It's fascinating stuff! So are many other artifacts, rescued from the rubble, including typical Portuguese 17th century tiled panels. The gilded wooden altar is breathtakingly beautiful. Well worth the €2 entry charge.
