Chapel situated opposite the museum but closed to the general public. Has attached the old hospital and in the courtyard there is ongoing excavation work of old Moorish storage buildings. Built around 1800 with working bell tolling the hours.

What a bell-tower! Located in The Old Town of Albufeira and part of the former hospital. Especially at night it is a beauty.

Very pretty landmark. We were staying close to the clocktower, and I certainly remember being woken early each day by the chiming of the clock bell. Make sure you don't get a hotel next to it....unless you are an early riser.

Most interesting was the Moorish ruins dig just outside the building. Was not open when we were there . Really not much to look at . While there we heard children's choir in one section of the building.

A nice landmark in Albufeira's old town. It's opposite the archaeological museum. The bell sounds every now and then during the day. At night the metal dome is nicely illuminated.

Nice tower as a landmark ok. Opening hours not always clear. Visit best during walk around centre. Good to do in morning hours.

Worth the climb up the steep cliff side road as there are several churches & a museum to see nearby too. We looked in one door & found ourselves in a music conservatory - wish we could have visited more of the inside .There are some interesting Moorish ruins in the dig just outside the Clock Tower . Lovely view... More
