We took the little train from Albufeira tourist booze strip, travelled the mighty escalator into the old town. Full of bars, restaurants and shops, lookie lookie men, and people paid to entice you into their place. The sun was high and we head for the beach, hired beds and played in the cold sea. Lovely by day and lovely by night. Walk to the beach via the Old Town at night and you will pass some lovely chill out bars. Well worth a visit.

Nice little old town very hilly and cobbles. Not for the disabled for sure. Nice beach at the bottom where some cafe bars nice to sit and chill

We stayed in a small village outside of Albufeira and we were very glad we did. We are seniors and the downtown area is just not for us. The old town is well worth a visit. We only went once and for us it really was all we need to see in this area.

I had high hopes for the old town but I am afraid it has been spoilt by all the tourist tack and bars. We visited off season and it was still very tacky. If you liek lots of shops to buy buckets and spades and a load of Irish bars then this place will suit you. The beach nearby is... More

This is a lovely town to walk around with a charming mix of old and new. There is plenty of Bars but beware they all tout you to come into theirs. Great place for a winter weekend away lots of bars and shops beautiful white sandy beaches great nic backs shops and lots of food bars to choose from might be a lively spot I'd say in the summer but if your into that could be a great place

Love this place, but wouldn't come In peak season, as it can get lively, we like Easter and late season, plenty to do and lovely beaches.

The view from the top is breath taking and there is escalators to take you down two in total the beach is fantastic and the old town has a mixed of shops bars and restaurants big johns do nice cocktails and coffee and food in the shade
