Apart from a very old bridge dated to Roman Times, the story behind it as part of the bridge that jewish fleing the Inquisition from Spain to Portugal, it is an interesting place to visit in Portagem. and well worth the visit.

A nice stopover coming from Marvao. It is a postcard bridge. Next to it, there is a natural swimming pool, which is great to cool down.

Quaint bridge with tower just off to one side. Step the river to allow access to a walkway. Spring water runs straight down from the mountains into this river. Summer the river is dammed and is used for river bathing.
