The garden is located to the side of the path at the base of the way up to the castle. It is small, but very well maintained. After climbing up to the castle and exploring its walls, the garden is a pleasant place to relax before continuing your exploration of Morvão.

as part of the visit to the upper part of the village of Marvao you will pass this nice garden on the left hand side facing the Southern part of the region, the garden is well kept even if it was the end of the Winter, so another nice quiet place to admire the view of the valley down the hill where Portagem is located as well as the village of Galegos

The attraction is more a kind of a "stone garden" then a "plant garden". Seen in the winter, with several trees leafless and scarce pre-spring flowers, its integration in a level under the plane of the castle defines it as a smooth continuation of that military building. It is a small square garden, with a fountain in its center. It provides a gorgeous view to the west of Marvão, and a sight of the land for many tens of km is available to the visitor in a clear day -- as the one of my visit. Quiet, lovely, in springtime, any garden is always a joy. Jardim de Marvao at Largo da Santa Maria, Marvao 7330-101, Portugal is worth walking around if you like gardens.
