It was quite relaxing. The most important thing is the you have the royal house building inside. Apart from that during the local festivals the park is full of activities.

Beautiful park with ducks and peacocks. It houses the Palacio de Dom Manuel. Located just inside the wall of the old city on the way to Chapel of the Bones and the Church of San Francisco.

I like this garden. There are numerous birds and ducks wandering freely around and I had never seen so many peacocks in one garden. There are plenty of blight red coloured benches, in good repair, scattered around for you to sit and relax while planning your next site to visit in Évora. The garden contains the Palacio de Dom Manuel, which is presently closed for renovation and the Ruínas Fingidas, or Fake Ruins.

Pros: There were a couple of fat ducks in a small pool of water with a fountain. There were a few benches in the shade, and a couple of very scenic areas with sculptures of Greek or Roman goddesses. Cons: Several benches were missing planks or facing the wrong direction. There weren’t many flowers. For a public garden, it was hard to compare with something from Paris or even Boston, but whatever — it was a pleasant little place.

The park is not all that big, but you can see parts of the city wall. Quick to walk around, but stop for a while and enjoy a drink or just relax on a red park bench

The beautiful bandstand/gazebo has been in a terrible fight with a crane that was working on the palace. It lost! We were told that this happened this month, March 2019. There was a car that was caught up in it to. Take a look at my pictures.

A nice public park located in the southern part of the city. There are several plants and trees and some peacocks just hanging about. There is also a medieval palace located in the park´s grounds.

Evora is lovely, but not exactly a destination for young kids. I spent several hours in this park with my toddler whilst my wife was at a conference and the peacocks, and play area kept him entertained well.

If you are in Évora, then go to this place. Really relaxing, nice garden with freely walking peacocks and geese. I went there early in the morning and there were fewer people and nicer temperature than in the afternoon (September). Palácio de Dom Manuel is located in the garden as well as at least two playgrounds for children.
In September it is open from 8 AM till 8 PM.
