One of the best attarctions in Évora. The building is beautiful, outside and in, and most of the times the college will be functioning normally so you really get a genuine and alive vibe of this ancient institution. It's a MUST see in Évora!!
Being in a group, we only had time for a quick outside glimpse of this old and significant university and the neighboring Jesuit church, Ingreja do Espirito Santo. We hope we will be back there in our next visit!

Amazingly this universitywas open visitors during class sessions. If you manage to forget that modern furniture the azulejos panels and the stone benches all around reveal how the university was organised 4 centuries ago.

This is the second oldest university in Portugal. Classrooms were small and could see blackboards and overhead projectors seemed to be still used. I would imagine computers too!! Was a Sunday so little activity .
