Do go and do buy the full ticket if the weather’s good. The Bones Chapel is special and the cloister wide, peaceful and full of history. The final time in the cathedral will allow you to reflect on Christ and his worship over many centuries in Evora. For us this was the top site in town. The climb to the roof is not too hard and the views spectacular. Not sure I’ve ever walked that far on a cathedral roof.

This was my favorite place I visited when visiting Portugal. The town in general is very charming, but this cathedral is overwhelming. I am from Arizona and we don’t have anything like this which made it extra special. We visited during a heat wave which was rough, but it was worth it! The rooftop and the church are incredible.

Most cathedrals are worth a visit but this one especially so. The huge gothic structure is the centerpiece of Evora. Buying a ticket, we climbed the tower early in the day, before the hot Sun. From the roof we saw all of Evora. We then descended and visited the fine cloisters. Look at the four corner pillars, each with a statue of one of the four evangelists. Inside the main cathedral, there is a gorgeous high altar and fine side chapels. Definitely visit.

In my opinion this is the major attraction of Evora. The building is magnificent as It is the largest medieval cathedral in Portugal. Do not miss the opportunity to go up to the terrace to have the best view over Evora.

When you are in Evora, this is the top place to visit first. Luckily it was only 8 minutes walking distance from my hotel. The entrance is 3.5 euros. You can see almost everything. Only treasury is additional 1 euro to this price. The panaromic view of the city from the tower is amazing. Inside of the the catedral is also amazing as well.

No receipt given. First time a church is not able to provide a receipt for a mandatory entry fee. I have paid many entry fees at churches and alike and a receipt is not only customary it should be mandatory!!!!! it is proof of payment- i asked several times - in spanish and english. Unacceptable

If I were an architect, I could describe this better, but the exterior and interior are magnificent. I loved cathedral's form and the rose granite. The statuary, intricate carvings, and nave in the interior are outstanding.

As with most churches in this region, build by arabs and refurbished by the Christians. Looks a lot like Lisbon's Cathedral. Recommend to visit the roof for a nice view of the city.

This is well worth a stop. Get the ticket which includes the cloister, the small museum and bell tower climb. The property isn't very big but it's charming and offers some lovely views if you climb the bell tower.

We enjoyed this cathedral way more than Lisbon's. You can spend a solid 1.5 hours here, which includes the cathedral and the little museum next to it. There are screens throughout the church which provide information on the different chapels and you do have to pay 1 euro for lights to illuminate certain pieces of art. Supposedly no photos are allowed in the little museum. There are some interesting pieces to see (and some truly questionable pieces), as well as descriptions of what everything is in English.
