It was a nice visit to a site that represent history in the heart of Kortrijk but I have today I enjoyed the cafe bar as I enjoyed watching the models of how the nuns life used to be inside the baginhof.

Interesting old 17th century Flemish architecture, surrounds a pleasant courtyard. The café in the former Head Begijn's house is well worth a visit, serving beers, wines, cold drinks as well as pastries. Well worth a look

What a profound place to wander around in the central part of old Kortrijk. Beautiful buildings, the statue of the last nun to preside here and a general feel of nostalgia. Free to walk.

It's, quite rightly, a UNESCO World heritage site. Unlike the Begijanhof in Bruges, it is not over-run with tourists, and maintains an extraordinary sense of peace. The church is also very beautiful.

Very attractive white houses in a cobbled area, which have a fascinating history of the Begijns movements . There is an interactive museum now opened which does have some information in English, although most of the exhibition is only in Flemish. There is also one...More

One of Kortrijk's iconic sights but the huge redevlopment of the area means that the towers cannot be seen at their best until this work is finished.
