De Kelk is a wellknown bar in Bruges for over more than 100 years. After a total renovation, De Kelk was reopened in the beginning of March 2017. The focus is now more on (rock)music, in stead of speciality beers. The menu consists of 50 kinds of beers (8 on tap and a lot of local beers), a big range of liquors, some cocktails and tapas in the near future (the kitchen is currently being renovated). The concert hall in the back will also reopen in the future. Hopefully we see you soon !

This bar is a little out of the centre but well worth the walk. A really friendly bar with a great atmosphere. Some good beers on tap at a good price. We always stop here on the way back to where we are staying.

I was strolling off the beaten path and De Kelk caught my eye. I got a glass of the "beer of the month" and some fries. The food/beverage were perfect, and the ambiance was relaxed and friendly. I went around 3pm. This is apparently a...More

This used to be one of my favourite bars in the late 70's. Back then it was already famous with gigs of national and international brands. Today, the bar has been reinvented by a great local couple, who keep the tradition of fine drinks, cosy...More

Kelk was a great bar and hopefully will still be. We went along last week & were disappointed that it was closed. There is a sign on the door which says that it is "opening soon" but you can peer into the gloom to see...More

Hi David The new Kelk is open since the 9th of March and is open every day from 3PM until... Except on Sundays and Mondays we're closed. Hopefully you'll give us a visit next time you're in Bruges :-). Thanks!

I've been told that De Kelk has closed due to the death of the owner, Oswald, in July this year. Jeroen seems to be in Cuba a lot looking at FB so maybe this is true :( A real shame as I've had some fantastic...More

Hi Sadly the news about Oswald is true, but since the 9th of March we are open again with a new interior :-) We have a selection of about 50 beers but more local and accessible. We prefer to focus more on the music and...More

Thought this was a great little bar, quite dark interior however the beer selection is fantastic, it tends to not get busy until late. Many tourists do not seem to wander this far from the main square however it is worth the trip. The barman...More
