- BradJillHong Kong, China1,59,141 contributionsVery good chocolatier at Simon Stevinplein in BrugesThis is an interesting chocolatier found on Simon Stevinplein run by a pair of brothers who promote their journeys around the world in search of cocoa beans which are used to create the chocolate products that are sold at their shop in Bruges. Opening hours are 9.30am to 6.30pm daily. A visit to The Chocolate Line is rather fun. They have a chocolate production with all glass wall setup so that you can watch the process taking place for how their chocolates are created. In the show room you will find a fairly typical setup of pralines, ganache, truffles as well as single origin bars along with holiday themed chocolate products you can take home with you. During a recent visit to Bruges, I purchased a handful of their chocolate bars from Ecuador, Mexico, Peru and Venezuela. They each have distinct and unique flavours and all taste quite good, giving reason to return to try them again during future visits to Bruges.Visited October 2022Written 5 December 2022
- CMC695 contributionsThe Chocolate Line Bruges Review, Bruges in MarchThis was best chocolate shop we visited, although I didnt find a chocolate shop that did anything better than what you would find in London or in other big cities. I think the days of Belgium being famous for having the finest chocolate ended around 25 years ago, rest of world has caught up. They now just have a lot of chocolate shops. The individual chocolates had some unusual flavours, mostly executed well, the regular milk chocolate bar was a good quality. I liked their version of Twix and Snickers bars. You could probably come here and not bother with any other chocolate shop, but it gets very busy. There is a Dumon shop nearby as an alternative.Visited March 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 11 April 2023
- Stanley SWinter Garden, Florida531 contributionsBest or second best?Recently they won an award as best or innovative chocolate makers and I can see why. We visited here and though I still think Dumon is slightly better, it could be considered a toss-up. All chocolate is made on premises and the flavors are very distinct and at times, very unusual. I find the only issue at the store is the lines. People huddle around the huge assortment at the counter as they pick their flavors, often asking what they are. But that is a store function and nothing to do with the actual product. This visit we only went to Dumon and here since I do not think the others come close (including the venerable Neuhaus which you can get anywhere and has gone big corporation) In a sea of pretenders The Chocolate Line takes risks with their product and it has paid off well for them; not just financially but in quality and recognition of that quality. Atop by and pick out a bunch;just don't dawdle because I am waiting right behind you.Visited May 2023Written 21 May 2023
- Nikki TMelbourne, Australia299 contributionsExcellent quality & flavour, well balanced. A must visitWe tried a few chocolate shops in Bruges, however this was the best! The chocolate was well balanced, not too sweet. The flavours are well balanced and there’s a great variety. We wish we had bought more to take home with us! The staff are lovely too! This was much much better than the other ‘famous’ chocolate shops. The others had chocolate which was much too sweet. This chocolate shop won chocolatier of the year 2023 too - well deserved.Visited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 6 August 2023
- Maria BSale, United Kingdom589 contributionsDelicious & innovative chocolate flavours. You just need to know, they won Best Chocolatier of the year 2023. 🤷🏼♀️ We looked for this shop in our search for bacon chocolate. Bacon chocolate? Yes it is a thing, & I love it. Why? We tried some on our last visit to Bruges & fell in love with this weird taste. An acquired taste, but it is GOOD. If you're not into bacon chocolate there's lots more delicious flavours to try. My husband loved the chilli chocolates most. They look so good too! You don't pop these into your mouth quickly. You definitely need to take your time & savour the flavour. They're gorgeous to look at! They've won prizes for these beauties, & it's easy to see why. The shop was full of Halloween shaped treats when we visited, & packed out with customers. I visited twice in our 4 day visit. While there I got to see how they made their chocolate skulls through the glass in the entrance hall. The children & adults were equally enthralled, & drooling! If you love chocolate, & can only visit one chocolate shop in Bruges, this is the one to visit. We will return. 😘👌Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 22 October 2023
- Julie G22 contributionsBest Chocolate EverWhen we were stationed overseas and living in Belgium, we use to go all the time. My husband just went back for a trip and the chocolate was STILL amazing. The had my two favorite pieces still and he bought me a whole box of each plus a mixed box. - meina b62 contributionsDangerously deliciousYour eyes will delight at all the jewel tone chocolates and your tastebuds will not be disappointed. I asked my husband what’s his favorite thing he has eaten on our European tour and he easily proclaimed the “Dangerously Delicious” chocolate was hands down #1 choice—coming from someone who isn’t even a chocolate lover. It is slightly pricier than other chocolate stores but well worth it.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 25 November 2023

Nice smell of chocolate and one could see how chocolate bars were being used. It’s a busy shop and chocolates are ok, nothing exceptional but nicer from other shops around.

Very crowded and unorganized, people cutting in line, no way to read all the chocolate ID cards to pick what you want, due to all the people in the way.

This place is absolutely amazing. It was recommended by our uber driver as the best chocolate and it did not disappoint. The range of flavors and the smoothness of the chocolate is divine.
On a personal note- I accidentally left my cell phone in this shop. You know the panic anytime you loose your cellphone, but especially when you're travelling Internationally. I traced my steps back to the shop and not only did they great me with smiles and assurance, they saw that my battery was low and gave me a charge! TOP NOTCH!
THANK YOU CHOCOLATE LINE!

There are many, many chocolate shops in Brugges. We asked our very helpful front desk person at the hotel what they recommend..they said The Chocolate Line. Wow...was that a good recommendation! I brought a variety of chocolate back for my better half and he really loved it.

Wonderful chocolate shop with very interesting and delicious chocolates. An added benefit is being able to watch the chocolate being made!

Does the Chocolate line shop do factory/tasting/making demonstrations?
If not, could someone please recommend where this is possible.
Many Thanks

Can anyone tell me how the bus/train transportation is coming in/out of this area? I've seen comments about taxi fees to airports, but looking to get to/from train less expensively.

It's an easy walk from the train station to the center of Bruges IF you are not dragging luggage.
