This is not where the tourists go. Less crowed, more local, a better place to eat. It was suggested as the place for a good bowl of soup by servers at one of the cafes in the Markt where we enjoyed an Irish Coffee. No...More

They are digging it up at the moment so best avoided at all costs. It might well be worth a visit when it's finished.

Beware, the Zand is currently undergoing building work and it's a very dirty and noisy place for the moment (November 2017). When the work is completed the locals say that there will be more trees and grass but we will see.

Currently being reconstructed so there are loads of building work going on and construction noise. Not sure when will be finished.

Usual city markets site, not in the city centre, closer to the train station. A couple of fountain features, otherwise it's just the usual large space

Before you start your visit - or at the end - this is a nice open square with lots of restaurants and cafes. And you get a look at the 15-year old Concertgebouw which blends good with the 'old' spirit of the town.
