Very interesting. Really goes back to the origins of fire which is weird. The number of lamps is stunning and the wax figures are disturbing!! Could do with more on electric lighting maybe but it is an interesting trip. Get a 3in1 ticket for best value.

We entered The Lamp Museum on the Bruges city card, so value for money wasn't really a factor for us. Whilst we were in the choco-story, it made sense to tag this on for no extra. It is worth saying most people see The Lamp Museum as a tag-on to visiting the choco-story. It bears saying that The Lamp Museum... More

If you are visiting the Choco-story, and have a Brugge City Card, then don't miss this! It is a surprising little museum that charts the onset of how we came to have lighting - with quite a few interesting facts that you will not have known beforehand. It's quite a contrast to the Choco-Story but lovely in itself and as... More

Obscure exhibition and quite enlightening. Worth the visit for the pure audacity of the curator to exhibit such a display.

Very Odd. We paid the extra to add this museum tour tagged onto the end of the chocco museum tour. Actually quite glad we did. The chocco museum was most odd...kids did not enjoy it and we only had a laugh because it was so awful you had to laugh! I actually found this lamp museum slightly more interesting. Infact... More

Had to traipse through cramped Choco-Story (full of confused kids and stressed parents desperately trying to pretend that museum was fun because: chocolate) to finally make it to wonderful idiosyncratic lamp museum. I must say a huge thank you to the generous collector who decided to share his passion with the general public. The museum has an overwhelming number if... More

Hard to find old building off the tourist trail housing a very modern, well presented, and very large display of domestic lighting from cave dwellers to present day. Well worth seeking out.

Bought a ticket to the Lumina Domestica as part of the 3 museums deal along with the frite and chocolate museums. It's located within the choco-story museum and is surprisingly large with a huge collection of lamps throughout history and the story of the domestic lamp. As a museum we thought it was better than either the frite or chocolate... More

Although less popular than the neighbouring chocolate museum, this was a really interesting find. We had the museum to ourselves for most of the visit. The museum housed a very extensive collection of lamps that had been collected by the owner. There was a lot of interesting historical information about light. The owner's videos made it feel as if he... More

We really enjoyed the Lamp Museum. It was really informative and interesting. However, one of our teenagers was really enthused while the other hated it. It's a matter of taste, but I am not terribly interested in lamps and I enjoyed it. If you think you might like it, you will.
