Bruges' City Hall (1376) is one of the oldest in the Low Countries. It is from here that the city has been governed for more than 600 years. An absolute masterpiece is the Gothic Hall, with its late 19th-century murals and polychrome vault. The adjoining historic hall calls up the city council's history with a number of authentic documents and works of art. A multimedia exhibition on the ground floor illustrates the evolution of the Burg Square.

interesting room

It is a big room painted with historical scenes all around and well worth the small admission price. Good information available about the painting in a variety of languages

Amazing rooms. Much smaller than expected but thats probably a good thing. The history of this place is very interesting and the exhibits do s great job of showing us the ebb and flow of the power struggle between the wealthy and the common people.

There are only a few rooms to visit in the Stadhuis but still worth it at 4 euros each. The interior of the main hall is stunning with many paintings depicting the history of the city and an attractive ceiling. A further room provides some details on the history of the city and a small selection of historical artefacts.

If you are a 'senior' then know there are steps to climb, but apart from that, this really is a building you should try to visit if you love old world painting and one of the most spectacular arched ceilings I have seen. Truly beautiful. Staff here are not really tourist trained, but in the main hall there are excellent... More

Very small attraction (just a couple of rooms) but the gothic hall is absolutely stunning and for the small cost it's worth a quick visit.

We hadn't planned on going in the Stadhuis because we had instead wanted to go to another attraction, which turned out to be closed for the whole of 2017. It was cold and raining so we decided to go in the Stadhuis instead. It costs €4 per person (February 2017) to go in, which we didn't mind paying because you... More
