Overview
More
The most important of Bruges' towers stands 83 metres tall. It houses, amongst other things, a carillon with 47 melodious bells. In the reception area, waiting visitors can discover all kinds of interesting information about the history and working of this unique world-heritage protected belfry. Those who take on the challenge of climbing the tower can pause for a breather on the way up in the old treasury, where the city's charters, seal and public funds were kept during the Middle Ages, and also at the level of the impressive clock or in the carillonneur's chamber. Finally, after a tiring 366 steps, your efforts will be rewarded with a breath-taking and unforgettable panoramic view of Bruges and her surroundings.

So obviously this is huge and imposing. It’s also a very interesting building to sit and look at from a distance. It sits on the market square and is clearly one of the things most people appeared to do while in Bruges which explains the...More

We were going to skip this but the q was short when we were passing so gave it a try. The views from the top are amazing and well worth the climb. The steps get really narrow near the top but there's a really strict...More

I was looking forward to my visit to Bruges just so I could see the clock tower- the Belfry. It was perfect! The line to go to the top was not too long; they only let a specific number of people up at a time,...More

Go on a clear day to get the best out of the visit. Oh, and be prepared to be out of breath when you have walked up 366 very narrow stairs.

Amazing views from the top but the climb is fairly demanding. Lots of stairs and some tight spaces but the view at the top makes up for it.

At first when my boyfriend was telling me about his previous trip up to the top I was freaking out in the queue. 366 steps up and 366 back down. To be honest nothing to it! Took 35 minutes in the queue to wait. Going...More

If you fancy stretching yourself then a trip to the top of the belfry is worth it for the views alone. Steeped in history this magnificent tower is testament to the amazing architecture of historic Brugge. Just be warned - the bells are VERY noisy!

For an adult it is around €10. If you are under the age of 26/25 you can get in for €8.00 but you must show your driving licence for proof of age. I hope this helps! the steep climb is worth the panoramic view :)!
