Overview

The most important of Bruges' towers stands 83 metres tall. It houses, amongst other things, a carillon with 47 melodious bells. In the reception area, waiting visitors can discover all kinds of interesting information about the history and working of this unique world-heritage protected belfry. Those who take on the challenge of climbing the tower can pause for a breather on the way up in the old treasury, where the city's charters, seal and public funds were kept during the Middle Ages, and also at the level of the impressive clock or in the carillonneur's chamber. Finally, after a tiring 366 steps, your efforts will be rewarded with a breath-taking and unforgettable panoramic view of Bruges and her surroundings.

This site was totally underwhelming. We got there shortly after it opened, which I'm glad we did as the lines were large in the afternoon. Taking the stairs up can be tricky, especially when people are coming up and down at the same time. It's...More

The tower has very narrow stairs and traffic moves both up and down. So, If you can get there at the opening and you will enjoy a less crowed climb and cooler temperatures. The View is lovey and worth the price.

Went first thing in the morning to avoid the queues.Steep climb to the top but a few stages to stop off at. Was disapointed that the very top part does not have a great view, one stage down for the best views!

I took on the Belfort steps the morning of our departure from Bruges. The wait can get deceptively long because the traffic in the tower is carefully controlled; thankfully so, since some of the passageways are claustrophobically tight. Still I enjoyed my climb, the awesome...More

10 Euros for students and 12 for adults to climb to the top. The view of Bruges and surroundings is beautiful though- on a clear day you can see all the way to the sea. Also interesting information about the clocks and songs inside.

You have to trudge up the 400 odd steps to see the view and check out the bells here. Great views from the top. €8 entry but get here early to minimize the queue which develops due the constricted size of the stairs and platform...More

For us we decided it wasn’t worth it getting in line and paying the entrance, because when you take a tour of the halve maan brewery, you get to go on the roof and have a pretty good lookout on the city as well.

I believe that there are different prices for adults and children at Belfort. Most hotels in Bruges will provide you with a small card that gives you various discounts at museums and attractions in Brugge. Two different... More

For an adult it is around €10. If you are under the age of 26/25 you can get in for €8.00 but you must show your driving licence for proof of age. I hope this helps! the steep climb is worth the panoramic view :)!
