Beautifully decorated with huge twinkling Christmas tree. Lots of lovely background music. Just a pity about rubbish almost certainly generated by tourists!!

Market Square is a lovely place to visit. Very picturesque with lots of restaurants dotted around the square.

I visited at the beginning of the Christmas Market season. The market is very nice but very small compared to other places in Europe. So if you’re expecting a huge market to explore you will be disappointed.

Although being small the market has a good choice of food stalls and also stalls selling Christmas ornaments.

Worth visiting but if you’re regular at Christmas markets don’t expect a huge market!

The Market Square in Bruges is one of the best town squares in Belgium, and that says a lot because Belgium has some really nice town squares!

Fabulous grand square in the center of Old Bruges, punctuated by the imposing Belfort towering 83 meters above the square. The Markt is the hub of activity in a city packed with energy. The square is ringed with attractive restaurants and pubs and fabulous old buildings.

Pictures of Brugge seem to always include the square, because it is a beautiful place. The buildings are varied and beautifully maintained. The square was even more amazing during the Christmas season - many lights, a Christmas festival, food vendors, etc. Great experience!

Epicentre of the city. The most famous place in Bruge, and also the most crowded. Amazing architecture.

A really lovely location every thing that christmas markets have but especially the people from Belgium. They are so warm and friendly which created a fantastic atmosphere at the market. And that's probably what we all enjoyed the most.

The market square in December is very Christmassy. The food stalls are very good and a lot cheaper than then the cafes and restaurants in Brugge. Anybody visiting on a tight budget don’t go there. The chocolate shops and stores see the enormous amount of tourists and therefore hike the prices up beyond reasonable pricing. We had a waffle and a scoop of ice cream a beer and a hot chocolate, we were charged 35 euros for the two of us at one of the market square cafes. It is 50 euros for a 30 minute ride on a horse drawn carriage around Brugge. We found a more than 3 hours here enough for us. Had we not booked our hotel in advance we would not have stayed overnight. The buildings are very pretty and the architecture lovely but you get the same feeling if you stayed in the UK and looked around for instance a Oxford. Would not bother to go again

Although I thought that this was going to be a lot bigger (Christmas Market) there was a variety of stalls to browse and of course multiple beautiful artisan chocolate shops!

I would go again but only for the day - Christmas Market pretty small - so dont go just for that !

Bruge is very pretty and clean, bridges and parks all around and a quaint Christmas market in the square surrounded by beautiful buildings.
Market stalls sell home made honey, cheeses, cakes, unusual pates. Handmade chocolates, wine are all plentiful along with beautiful crafted hand painted cups, mugs and Christmas baubles.
Just sit down in the sqare and have some lunch and soak up the atmosphere. Then watch chocolate moulds being made and boxes of chocolates being prepared by hand. Quirky unique gifts, worth a visit.
