When in Bruges, there’s nothing like viewing this historic city from its canals. These affordable, 30-minute boat tours follow the same routes and offer commentary in several languages. But because they’re incredibly popular with visitors, don’t be surprised by long waits in line.

an extremely relaxed way to visit the beautiful village of Damme, catch the ferry from just outside Bruges and enjoy a cold Leffe as you watch the countryside pass by. Then to Damme, a truly lovely village with excellent café and restaurants and great architecture. a leisurely walk, lunch and back on the ferry to enjoy another beer on the... More

I walked from my Bruges hotel to the pier on the Norweegse Kaai for the first sailing of the day (10.00am). It was full of people on a bus tour. The trip was pleasant enough and took about 45 minutes. Having read previous TA reviews I knew there was not much to do in Damme except have lunch. The tour... More

We decided to take the first sailing of the day of the lovely old paddle steamer Lamme Goedzak at 10am from Norweegsekaai,Bruges which we walked to in half an hour from our hotel on the opposite side of the city rather than take the number 4 bus which takes 20 minutes. Not many travellers at this time of day on board... Excellent activity for a relaxing morning or afternoon. Several restaurants and an old catherdral for touring in in Damme. But the boat cruise through the Belgian countryside is like floating through an old masters painting. Don't miss it.

The perfect way to get bearings in this near perfect medieval city. Informative guides narrate the history of the city as you motor gently past the buildings and endless swans. Very relaxing !

Catchthe boat from Damme Port (€10 p.p.) takes about 30 minutes to get to Damme. Just very relaxing , and there is a bar on board! Not that much to see in Damme, a walk round part of the battlements, now just an earth mound and nature reserve. Nice church, a tower (€2) to climb 211 steps for s good... More

We decided, on a nice day, to walk from Bruges to Damme. On the return trip we paid the €8 and used the paddle boat. If you use this transport, get there early. We had great seats at the stern. The rest of the boat was packed. This was a nice way to travel in one direction. The walk is... More

We had heard about this 'riverboat' (false stern paddle wheel and smoke stacks, built in 1985, you know the sort of thing) and as it was a hot day we decided to relax on the boat after wandering around the pleasant town of Damme. With a pleasant breeze we started off on our return trip about 35 mins each way... More

I agree with a previous reviewer. People are getting confused between the paddle boat to Damme and the smaller boats on the canal in the centre of Bruges. The paddle boat goes from Dampoort which is a little way out of the centre of Bruge. We caught a no 4 bus from the Theatre (just up from the Markt) for... More
