Great riverside walk by four windmills

On the edge of the city there is a collection of four beautifully restored windmills with 1/2 mile of each other linked by a cycle/footpath.

It is a very pleasant route to use for a morning walk, it is also used by locals & visitors for a jogging route.

The canal borders this narrow park and just behind a 4 lanes road. Some windmills, a great view of the top of the belfry & towers of the centertown (10 minutes wlaking).

It’s like a dessert course after the platter full of Bruges city tour. Before leaving Bruges do come to this place, chit-chat with friends or just simply lie down and see the view. If you are luck you can see colourful hot air balloon and paragliders also. Time Required to visit: No restrictions For Photography: Plenty of options Suitable for:... More

Nice cozy little town in Belgium. Small streets surrounded by a canal. Small shops and many restaurant and cafes everywhere. Easy to walk around and romantic during a rainy day.

Take the time to walk out of the city along the canal to see the windmills. Nice to see these old workhorses in such good condition.

This route is a new add at Bruge river. It was a really good thought to put this route in this place. A very relaxing place for a walk, a pic nic or a romantic date.

My friend and I visited yesterday and we were fortunate it was a nice and sunny day. We decided to walk the 8km loop which took us 2 to 3 hours. The highlight was definitely the windmills and it was nice to sit down and enjoy the views of the canal/river and the city centre. If I lived there I... More

We enjoyed taking this walk on our long weekend in Bruges. The canal you walk beside basically surrounds the city centre so wherever you begin or end you're never that far away from being back in the city centre. The windmills and old city gate are cool, and it's generally just quite pleasant and somewhat quieter than being further into... More
