The windmills are well worth a visit. We walked in from the square so it took about 30 mins. You can't go up to all of the windmills, but we did find one that you could, but the steps are very steep, so be careful! We then found a charming cafe for a hot drink.

It's quite a climb up steep, ladder like stairs, but here you have an opportunity to experience a working windmill! Also the view is magnificent! But be careful in the steps! Best to climb down backwards -- as if you were climbing down a ladder. The handrails are good and sturdy!

Brugge is not really the greatest city to be with your dogs, at least not the city centre for sure. The area - park around those beautiful mills is just great, go for nice, relaxing stroll. Really you can enjoy the nature, the boats in the canal and your dogs too. Its worth to visit if you are tired of... More

Walking along the edges of Bruges is great, especially when the sun shines upon the green grass. You can stroll along the paths and gander at the windmills (only one of which is real, the others are replicas and don't work). Make sure to do this!

This was en route to our final destination and we had to obviously make a stop and take a family selfie. The mills were impressive to see and my kids enjoyed the surrounding areas which has big grass fields for running around and taking in the scenery.

We walked around Bruges and this part was very enjoyable. You can walk past four windmills and see the city centre on your side. You can take a short walk and go back to the city or walk right around Bruges as we did. It was great.

After climbing steep steps, got to the windmill only to be told then that you have to pay €3 to look inside. There are no signs telling you this before you get to the top.

Our group rode bicycles along a canal to a pair of windmills. The photo is of the Bonne-Chière windmill. One is allowed to climb a very steep ladder to get views of the area.

Its a still nice stroll if you wanna see eastern part of Bruges. However its not a must see. In fact most of things there were rather unimpressive (including remnants of old walls and lace shops).
