Walking is the best way to get the view and the site hands on. The windmills along the canals are the beautiful sight and most tourist took time to be there. Other important structures are seen too.

Avoid all the crowds and see the four windmills on the canal banks - if the weather is kind. Gives you another view of Bruges.

We had to leave Amsterdam to find windmills and we did right here in Bruges. It about a 20 minute walk from the center of town, but it’s well worth it. Not only are you walking past the heat beat of this city. You get real insight of local life. No tourist traps or fancy restaurants but you get to... More

Why not leave the centre of the city and head to the Windmills and walk along the moat, see the old gates of the city

I walked around some of this trail and overall it was an OK way to spend a few hours but there was something stunning there. This is only worth doing if you're in Bruges for a few days.

Picture the scene: Christmas in Bruges, and the centre is packed with visitors, enjoying the ice rink, the (pretty tacky) markets and extensive choc-holism. Music is playing from every shop and every lamp post, and it's hard to move. So, now move your image just half a mile east, and suddenly all is tranquil. The cobbled streets seemingly deter the... Lets face it, you don't go to Bruges for peace and tranquility. The place is stuffed full of tourists and you are seldom far from a shouting tour guide wildly waving an umbrella at his/her bemused flock. BUT if you go to the tourist information office and get help on a route around the walls you will get to enjoy... More

This is in a nice part of Bruges, its right beside the old canal that surrounded the city from days past in history, The windmill is on a slope that leads upwards inj a incline and we spend a good hour walking about
