Situated in the Main Market square (Grote Markt), St Peter's Church is just across from Leuven's majestic Town Hall. Built in Gothic style, the church has a cruciform floor plan and incomplete bell tower. Inside the church you can see two famous paintings from Flemish...More

It was being painted white internally when we visited, the lectern is a work of art in wood. It is worth paying the small extra to view the Treasury.

A huge church with gothic architecture. The entrance is free but the opening hours not very convenient during the weekdays. I visited it on a sunny Saturday and was very impressed by the sculptures and paintings.

It is going to be renowated and access was very limited. Nice, baroque interior. Small souvenir shop. Free entrance. This was the only place in centre of Leuven where it was possible to by postcards (but not stamps).

An audio guide is I think a must to get the most out of this visit. One should not forget to view the marvellously carved pulpit in the side of the church used for regular celebrations of the mass.
