There is a story being told in an interesting way I guess but I was not convinced. I would have found the history of the building more interesting

Delightful experience, much updated since I last visited some 22 years ago. The social history of Gent life and its people standing over the past 100 years or so, viewed with photos, objects, toys and sounds, this was a trip down memory lane for my...More

A little shelter in the center of Ghent. You can visit the museum and afterwards have a drink in the innerplace, a haven of silence in the center of the city and near het Patershol, the birth place of Charles V.

This is probably the most boring museum I have ever visited! Set in an old courtyard of almshouses, the heart and soul has been ripped out and replaced with an unbelievably dull exhibit of everyday 20th century household object. Avoid at all costs and shame...More

Nice place to slow down and relax. Not something you should go out of your way for. It was described by a reviewer in TripAdvisor as a Grandmother's Attic. I think so

This museum highlights the everyday lives of normal people in the only remaining almshouse in Gent. Each room tells its own story. I visited here on a Sunday afternoon and it was pleasantly quiet. It cost me 6 euro to enter. There was not an...More

Not a very big museum but a good and interesting way to kill an hour or so and reveals life in Belgium through different eras. Nothing special to write home about and nothing that you haven't seen before but certainly interesting even if some items...More

In converted Almshouses in the heart of the old city a museum of everyday life - death, birth, celebrations, holidays, commerce. For those who remember it, the displays of life in the 60s and 70s are nostalgic.

We called here for a drink. Try the cherry jenever, its very good. Nice courtyard area with seating and a nice atmosphere with interesting features.
