It's turnoing into a stunning flowermarket every weekend. It's very often that you can hear live music there. During festivals - it holds some extra venues. Underneath there's a big parkingspace. The place is surrounded with banks, bookstores and other shops.

This is obviously a major square in the city, but we thought it was rather boring. This is partly because there are no cafes or places to sit. However, the Opera house is impressive

A very nice place to go on a sunday morning when there is not much to do in Ghent. Big flowermarket and some local musicians are performing on the 'kiosk' on the square. You can have oysters and champagne on one of the foodstalls.

Located a block away from my hostel, there was not much to do and see here 6 days a week. Heard that becomes alive on Sundays for the flower markets. There is a "gazebo-like" structure in the area. Also noted is the Flemish Opera located....More

On this former market place, you can still see an old music podium, but closeby there are 'real' concert halls such as the Handelsbeurs and the Flemish Opera. And on Sunday, there is still some 'market' activity.

The square is elegant and you clearly notice that this must be the most upscale part of the city. Not much to see or do but as the city center is not that big, it is surely worth passing by it.

This place is specially nice to visit on sunday morning because then you have a flower market and on the kiosk mostly an orchestre is playing music. On this place there are no much shops but mostly old great buldings (like banks). For shopping you...More

This is such a lovely area of a beautiful city. The Sunday morning flower market was beautiful with an amazing quality of plants. There is even something for visitors with bulbs on sale that can be transported. The bandstand is pressed into Sunday use and...More
