You don't need a guide for this, and my family and I showed ourselves around. For anybody with a loved one who served in WWII and who fought in the Battle of the Bulge, Bastogne is a "must-experience".

Fantastic views of Bastogne and the Ardennes forest from the top of the monument. We'll worth a visit. Try to make it on a good clear day to appreciate the best views.

Nice impressive monument in the shape of a start with a good museum attached. It is related to the battle of the Bulge in 1944. Very popular with Americans visiting Europe.

Chilly on the day we visited so did not climb the steps to the roof, the monument is quite a site and well laid out and worth visiting if you are at the museum

We had a car and I recall this monument was about 1.5-2 Km outside the main part of Bastogne. Walking is certainly possible and I do not know about the bus.
